About us

Bathurst Junior Rugby Club is affiliated with Bathurst Bulldogs Rugby Club, the oldest club in country NSW, founded in 1874. The Club’s long history is one of the reasons it holds a special place in the fabric of the Bathurst community. Bulldogs is recognized as a strong, family orientated Club which gives rise to generation after generation of quality rugby players playing in Bulldogs colours, and offering a solid foundation for going on to representative honors for those with that extra talent and motivation.

We currently offer Rugby for boys and girls in the age groups of U6, U8, U10, & U12 who all play in the Central West competition. This season we are also working toward fielding an U14 side for the first time, providing a more complete pathway for eager young rugby players in our community.

Rugby by all definitions is the ultimate team sport. It takes players (boys and girls) of all shapes, sizes, and fitness levels and brings them together to play as one team. Our club offers something for everyone and promises fun and development of young rugby players in a safe and friendly environment. We pride ourselves on creating an atmosphere that is not only fun, but works at developing a culture of fairness, sportsmanship, and loyalty. For parents there is the opportunity to become part of the Bulldogs Club, and the family friendly nature of the club only helps build upon the long history stretching back to 1874.

Anne Ashwood Park is the home of the Bulldogs. Boasting facilities which are second to none in our region. The lush green fields and high-quality lights have attracted visiting out of area clubs, and provide the opportunity to enjoy night rugby from time to time. Located just off Hereford Street on the eastern side of Bathurst, the Bulldogs grounds are blessed with easy parking and a short walk to town.

If all this sounds worth checking out, get in touch with the Bulldogs Club, as a player or spectator we’d love to have you come and be part of our rugby experience.
